Great turnout to Edward’s Pit Park

Great weekend of Orienteering for our Junior members from Years 7/8 up and others from local schools in our region. The weekend was hosted by the Wellington Orienteering Club, with a Sprint event on Friday 19 July, a Long distance event at Waiterere beach on the Saturday, and finishing up with an action packed Relay on Sunday.

12 people involved with Red Kiwi Orienteering travelled to sunny Hawkes Bay at Matariki for a great weekend of Orienteering, hosted by Hawkes Bay Orienteering Club.

One of our very active junior members has been named in the Southern Cross team going to Australia this year in September He will be well known to many of the children who have been participating in the Schools Orienteering training as the main organiser. Among other events coming up which will help with his experience and preparation are the Pokapu Central Region Champs to be held in the Hastings area this coming Matariki weekend, and the upcoming NZ Secondary Schools Championships in July.
